Why I Want to Write

I regret the days when I was oblivious to the times when my mother, my aunts and uncles, godparents, older cousins, would tell me stories about our family history. I wish I could go back in time and bring back those days, but no matter what I do, they will only be memories.

For my mother, my aunts and uncles, my godparents, my older cousins have all passed away.
They are all gone now, but the memories of those stories will live. I am committed to preserving those stories about our family heritage, for my children to know.

I want my children to get to know their mother, where she came from, and what her life was before them. I want my children to have a written memoir of their family history and heritage, because nothing and no one lasts forever..

Remembering Mom on Mother's Day

What's a better way of celebrating Mother's Day than remembering your mother and paying a tribute to all her unconditional love, sacrifices, unselfish and caring ways, together with your loved ones (not all of them) on this special day. Now that I have children of my own, I have come to realize that she was not an ordinary mother; she was a supermom. Looking back, I am amazed at how she was able to juggle her time between her work and her devotion to her kids when we were growing up. She became a widow at the age of 41, her second and last marriage (her first husband was a casualty of war). She remained unmarried until the day she died, unconcerned for the attention quite a few gentlemen had given her. Instead, her time was spent religiously on her obligations to raise her three daughters, and managed to send them to one of the best private schools in the country at that time. Name Change: One Day At A Time

If you have been following my blog, you will notice a name change in my title. Why? Because I no longer feel the former title, "Autobioblog: My Journey Through Life" is what my blogging is all about. The new name, "One Day At A Time", closely depicts my struggles as a person, a mother, a grandma, a caregiver, a businesswoman, a mentor, a CCD Teacher, a minister, a blogger, a million and one roles I have to play, multi-tasking in my fast-paced life. Sometimes, I wonder how I have managed to do all the things I had to do, juggle my time between trying to do work, supervise my children and sometimes my granddaughter, follow-up with my customers, talk to suppliers, bring my cars for change-oil, repairs, and maintenance, and still manage to cook a freshly cooked meal for my children. Life is such a great challenge. I learned in time that if I wanted to stay on top of things, I should take one day at a time.
